Help Us Preserve Federal Flood and Emergency Management Documents

The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) has launched an initiative to preserve federal agency documents that are important to ASFPM's mission. Using the following guidelines (below), we're asking our library users and collaborators to reach out and suggest documents for preservation.

Preservation Suggestion Guidelines

  1. A document or dataset to be preserved SHOULD be related to the ASFPM mission, i.e., it should focus on flood hazards, flood mitigation, flood risk, NFIP, or otherwise be CFM-related.
  2. The documents' or datasets' source must be a Federal agency, and in particular documents from FEMA, NOAA, USACE, and the EPA are most appropriate.
  3. The documents or datasets should be one of the following file formats: PDF (.pdf), Word Document (.docx), Excel Spreadsheet (.xlsx), or a tabular data format (.csv or .tsv).
  4. When suggesting a documents or datasets for preservation, please limit yourself to no more than 10 documents in a series. Singular document or dataset suggestions will receive preservation consideration first.
